As part of the GIZ ADVANCE Programme, in collaboration with Chemonics Egypt, Methods Design & Engineering conducted a Resource Efficiency and Cleaner Production (RECP) technical assessment for Alalamiya for Plastics Technology (Sharky), a plastic manufacturing facility in Obour City, Egypt.
The assessment examined the factory's energy, water and material consumption, identifying opportunities to reduce resource losses, improve production efficiency and minimize environmental impacts. Through technical evaluations and techno-economic analysis, we developed practical improvement measures to reduce operating costs and support the factory's alignment with relevant European and international environmental and efficiency requirements.
Scope of work
Factory Assessment. Reviewing production processes, equipment, utility consumption and operational data.
Performance Benchmarking. Evaluating resource use against relevant international benchmarks and best practices.
Improvement Measures. Identifying engineering opportunities supported by estimated savings, investment costs and payback periods.
RECP Action Plan. Developing a prioritized roadmap to improve resource efficiency, reduce costs and minimize environmental impacts.
